Recent Claims studies have indicated burglary claims are on the rise. Some trends include:
- Computers, TV's, printers, and office equipment
are the items stolen most frequently
- Buildings are broken into through rear doors and
windows and also through exhaust and air
conditioning vents
- Many buildings had no alarms or alarms that were
inadequate
WHAT CAN BE DONE TO PREVENT BURGLARIES?
1) Increase lighting around your building including
motion sensitive floodlights.
2) Lock doors to rooms where electronic equipment
and cash are stored and etch your company name
on equipment.
3) Install shatterproof glass on windows that allow
easy access to the buildings.
4) Keep your premises free of debris that can be
used to gain access to windows or the roof.
5) Install double cylinder deadbolts locks with 2-3/4
inch deadbolts on exterior doors.
6) Install a UL certified alarm system. Many systems
include motion sensored video surveillance for
both interior and exterior portions of your building
and can be monitored offsite with a cellular
phone.
